OL Grant Lingafelter Officially A Mountaineer

Stay connected for news and updates

The giant tackle picked WVU over Miami Ohio.

Grant Lingafelter, a 6'5, 280 pound offensive tackle from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, recently flipped his verbal commitment from Miami, Ohio to West Virginia after an outstanding visit to Morgantown. Lingafelter, rated two stars by Scout.com, continues the trend of taller linemen preferred by Holgorsen and Bedenbaugh. And the best news is that he can probably add another 40 to 50 pounds to his already large frame. That weight addition will likely require a redshirt season (and a lot of hard work and calorie intake) but Lingafelter has the potential to develop into a great tackle if given the proper coaching and experience. Lingafelter actually had offers from a ton of MAC schools as well as Cincinnati and Marshall, but had been a Miami RedHawk verbal for most of the fall before switching to the Mountaineers and the allure of the Big XII. Look for the big man to add depth and contribute to a very strong line in the next 2-3 years.

Welcome home, Grant Lingafelter!
