OL Stone Underwood Officially A Mountaineer

The JUCO center chose WVU over UMass and Memphis.

Stone Underwood, a 6'4, 285 lbs center from Brookhaven, Mississippi, rated two stars by Scout.com, chose the Mountaineers over offers from UMass and Memphis after spending two years at Copiah-Lincoln. With his experience playing two years at the junior college level, Underwood should be in a position both physically and mentally to step in and compete right away for the center position vacated by Joey Madsen. Unfortunately, Underwood did not graduate in time for him to enroll early and go through spring practice, but he should have enough time in summer voluntary workouts to learn the playbook and develop a relationship with all three aspiring quarterbacks. As expected, this is another giant lineman fitting the mold of players Bill Bedenbaugh prefers to coach up. Don't let his offer list fool you, Underwood is a very good center who fits right into WVU's wide open Eer-Raid offensive scheme.

Welcome home, Stone Underwood!
