WR Daikiel Shorts Officially A Mountaineer

Three star wideout chooses WVU over Boston College, NC State and Boise State.

Daikiel Shorts, a 6'1, 200 pound Scout.com three star wide receiver from Elkton, Maryland signed with West Virginia today over offers from Boston College, North Carolina State, and Boise State, among a slew of others. The talented wide receiver jumps right into the competition for playing time in the wake of the departures of the Mountaineers' top three wideouts in 2012 and attrition from its most coveted underclassmen. Shorts actually enrolled for the spring semester, but officially signs his binding letter of intent today and will be announced with the rest of the 2013 class. Since he is going through spring practice with Paul Millard, Ford Childress and Chavas Rawlins he should have a leg up on the competition come fall. In fact, given Shorts' athleticism and the fact that he enrolled early, I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a key part of our passing attack this fall, particularly early in the season.

Welcome home, Daikiel Shorts!
