The speedy wideout picked WVU over Ohio State and Tennessee.
Shelton Gibson, a 6', 185 pound wide receiver from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, gives this class an instant impact playmaker to fill the void left by Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. Gibson, rated 4 stars by Scout.com, chose WVU over Ohio State and Tennessee. He also participated in the 2013 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, and is widely regarded as an electric receiver and return man who should compete for immediate playing time this fall. It's hard to think he will be able to replace Austin or Bailey right away, but the opportunity will certainly be there if he can step on campus in the summer and develop a rapport with Paul Millard, Ford Childress, and/or Chavas Rawlins. Gibson chose WVU late in the process, but has fully embraced his commitment, tweeting anti-Pitt messages and attempting to lure his friend Tyler Boyd to Morgantown. I'm betting he quickly becomes a fan favorite.
Welcome home, Shelton!
