West Virginia University received a $4 million donation today from Brickstreet Insurance Foundation.
The gift includes $3 million to the College of Business and Economics’ Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, which will now be known as the BrickStreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and $1 million to the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for improvements to athletic facilities for student-athletes. The gift to the College of Business and Economics is the largest corporate gift in the college’s history.
While a large portion of the donation goes to the college of business and economics. The $1 million gift to the athletic department is a much needed boost to ongoing renovations for the football program. Athletic Director Oliver Luck spoke kindly aobut the Brickstreet donation:
“We appreciate the generosity of Greg Burton and BrickStreet,” said WVU Athletic Director Oliver Luck. “This gift will help with our much needed football renovations, and our coaches and student-athletes truly appreciate it. BrickStreet, as a company, has been hugely successful and we are delighted and appreciative that they have invested such a substantial sum of money in the athletic program. Our success depends largely on generous contributions such as this one from BrickStreet, and we certainly are fortunate to have them as a member of our team.”
