West Virginia's Mountaineer men's basketball team takes part in their final Big Monday matchup of the year as they travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on Bruce Weber's Kansas State Wildcats in the "Octagon of Doom." On paper, this looks like a total mismatch. Transitive property says the team that just beat Baylor by 20, who beat WVU by 20, wins by 40. But like Smitty said, sports don't always work that way. In fact, they rarely do. This is a Wildcat team that was taken to the limit by these Mountaineers and was lucky to escape Morgantown with a victory. In all honestly, with the inconsistency shown by this Mountaineer team, neither a blowout loss or even a victory would surprise me at this point.

Television coverage is being provided by ESPN & ESPN3 tonight at 9 pm ET.
