Oh sweet Jesus that was a fun game! If you feel anything like AB does, you loved every minute of the national title. If you didn't, well I would guess the off season is going to be especially long for you. What we really know about the teams that made the final poll is most of them were not as good as Alabama. Texas A&M was, at least for one day.
Notre Dame was not at any point in the season. Even though we all put them number one because they were still undefeated at the end of the season. But reality is a strange universe that is constantly shifting and what seemed obvious a month ago seems unbelievably funny today.
I guess we have one more year of this before the playoff system kicks in. Let's ride it like the donkey that it is. Throw caution to the wind, and put Marshall as the preseason number one so their message boards will link to us as proof that things are turning around down there. Hint: they're not.
I have no desire to talk at any length about the rationale of my final ballot. It's at the bottom of this post. I just want to say thanks to Ole Miss for doing the right thing and beating Pitt in their bowl game. Until next year, keep your piss hot.
