What do you think hurts recruiting in basketball more?

With a post season birth to the NCAA Touney looking all but shot, I want to look forward and hope for better days for this Mountaineers basketball program. As I sit on the couch and watch losses pile up, I begin to wonder about future recruiting.

2 things concern me the most in regards to recruiting: first the move to the Big 12 from the Big East and second Hugg's coaching style.

The move from the Big East to the Big 12 is obvious. Not playing ranked teams multiple times a week, no tournament held at MSG, great recruiting grounds where we used to play etc etc etc.

Secondly, I believe what might start to hurt recruiting is Huggs coaching style. I sit on my couch and watch him during timeouts, at the end of halves and after yanking the player while play is still going on and just screaming in the players faces. Also, there is the whole doghouse issue where players seem to find themselves sitting and watching multiple games at a time. It almost appears that he holds grudges against certain players. My first thought is, do I want someone like that coaching me or better yet coaching one of my sons? There are plenty of coaches at major basketball programs that teach without yanking and embarrassing/berating their players. I don't know if this style is what recruits are looking for in a coach.

With all that being said, I'm glad that Huggs is our coach, he is a great coach, just look at his record, he has won everywhere. But with this being said...I am starting to have concerns.

What do you think? Are these issues or not for perspective recruits? Is there anything I missed?
