Dana Holgorsen has another void to fill on his coaching staff as the young quarterbacks coach heads to Aggieland for a bump in salary and the chance to coach a Heisman winner.
The WVU football staff shakeups just keep on coming, this time with quarterback coach Jake Spavital heading to replace Kliff Kingsbury at Texas A&M. Tis the season for the NCAA football coaching carousel I guess, but it doesn't exactly come at a great time as Holgorsen has yet to announce the reported hires of Tony Gibson and Brian Mitchell and will now have to dip back into the pool of candidates for a quarterbacks coach.

Spavital was certainly an up and coming offensive guru and a pretty good recruiter, but the fact of the matter is this will always be Holgorsen's offense, with a touch of Shannon Dawson thrown in for good measure. Dave Wannstedt could coach quarterbacks in this offense and we would still average 35 points per game. So, good for you Jake. You get to ride Johnny Football to an offensive coordinator job and $400,000 salary in 2014 or 2015.
It will be interesting to see what names surface as potential replacements. Has Holgorsen tapped out his connections at this point? Maybe there is another up-and-comer who could come in, recruit his tail off, and learn from Holgo for a few years before moving on like Spavital did. Because QB coach isn't a vital position on Holgorsen's staff, he now has some leeway to make a hire that benefits recruiting or thinks outside the box a little bit. If we get wind of any potential hires, we'll be sure to pass along the word.
