Game Thread: West Virginia Mountaineers @ Providence Friars
West Virginia Mountaineers at Providence Friars, Feb 5, 2012 12:00 PM EST
After almost a full week's break (a much needed one, so it seems), Huggs has the men back in action today on the road at Providence College to take on the Friars. As Chuck noted Friday, this break couldn't have come at a better time as West Virginia's current 3 game losing streak is the longest since Huggs came home to his alma mater. The Mountaineers, and all of us for that matter, hope it doesn't get any longer.
Televised coverage is being provided by ESPN3 and the Big East Network, which includes MASN, SNY and others, at noon. So, before the Super Bowl parties commence, sit back, relax, grab yourself an early favorite beverage or 11 and join us in running commentary, random observations, snark, wit, funny pictures, hopes, fears, cheers and jeers in the comments section.
And, as always...

Big game..
We need to get back on track and this one is pretty obviously a should/must win.
My hope is
Rutledge will have a break out game as the first big off the bench.
Does anyone know if the game can be viewed online other than ESPN3?
Only the madman is absolutely sure.
For the love of God...
What in the hell is wrong with Prov. coach’s head!?!?

What is happening right now.
Who are these people playing for providence
We are at least starting to play with some heart.
That last foul on them was pretty obvious. The dude pulled KJ’s shoulder.
I like playing back
off Council. Dude demands more respect than we were giving him.
We need adjustments
to our transition D at half.
And it should start
with getting the ball in low. These long shots tend to have long rebounds.
Can't watch
but gamecast says KJ only has 9 pts, what is up?

Teams have been playing a lot of zone lately.
Plus Deniz actually came to play and Truck is hot.
So he isn't getting a ton of looks?

Since you posted this
he has scored 5. He is getting decent looks, but they are keeping him off the offensive glass for the most part. His scoring tends to come in bunches, and I’m hoping he is saving it for down the stretch.
Can't seem to get closer
than about 5, eh?

Hey everybody
Just showed up…overtime? against the Friars? Really?
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?
coming off a 3 game losing streak
I would say a win would reverse the trend
Looks like
they picked it up in the 2nd half, but we better play some defense here.

KJ never misses those
Man..that would have been nice

Wow!!
Just getting the win is all I cared about. We needed that. Three players with 20 points in one game. That is a shootout.
Againnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
………………………………Had ’em all the way !!!!!!
WOOOHOOO!!!
Needed that one!
