I will be...
at the JMU and Maryland games for sure. I would really like to go to the TCU and Oklahoma games, too…

the only thing i dislike
is back to back weeks flying to Austin then to Lubbock
agreed
but I’m glad that in that pair of games we get Texas first.

lCome to Austin a day early - go to Lubbock a day.....just don't go to Lubbock! :-)

NO WEEKDAY GAMES
Might be a typo above, but the Texas game is on Oct. 6th.
If this picture is right, no more Thursday or Friday games with the ESPN announcing D squad.
Nope - from now on you will be on prime time - all weekend games.

Isn't this A&M's schedule if they were in the Big XII this year?
Players who should be in the Hall of Fame: Pat TIllman, Dwight White, Donnie Shell, L.C. Greenwood, Ray Guy, Steve Tasker, Greg Lloyd, Andy Russell, Cris Carter, Kevin Greene, Andre Reed and Jerry Kramer
"Clemson should've stopped turning the ball over" Dana Holgorsen when asked about running up the score in the Orange Bowl
I think Missouri's. TCU took A&M's basically.
"Hey, don't y'all think that's beautiful right there? That crystal is SO beautiful. And it's coming home to Texas." - Vince Young
Things set up nicely for you.
All four road games are pretty favorable. The only exception might be the trip to Austin, but that’s the week before they play OU so that’s as good a time as any to catch them.

Individual game tickets won't be available until right before the season starts but...
Should you want season tickets (which also include the option of ordering additional home and away tickets) then contact the Mountaineer Athletic Club at (800) 433-2072 for additional information.
We're bound by a bond not completely understood by those outside, try as we might to explain it to them.
Thanks,
I would love season tickets but living in Richmond makes that tough. I do however want tickets to the JMU game and for the OK home game.
Thanks again.

You can't pre-order tickets from Stub Hub?

Stub Hub is usually
twice as much as they are from the school.

I’m going to Austin for that game, no doubt. Luckily with student tickets I can hopefully attend all the home games, but with this sort of heavy schedule it might be time for Milan-Puskar expansion.
This.
This has got to be in the works. Games like OU, OSU, TCU, and UT will undeniable sell the stadium out when these teams visit.

I particularly love that the first Big XII visitors to Morgantown....
are the good god-fearing Baptists of Baylor.
Y’all play nice and try not to eat them, OK? I think the culture shock might be enough to do some of them in.
2012 Orange Bowl Champs: "I haven’t seen a Tiger take a beating like that since Elin grabbed her 9-iron."
Oh, I think we'll find some way to manage....
I think Baylor’s Baptist image far outweighs reality.

I've played in Baylor stadium
and had friends go to Baylor, it ain’t that wholesome.
My friend a free-will baptist told me that you always invite two baptists to the party. If you invite one, they’ll drink all your booze, if you invite two they’ll watch each other.
I can not verify his claims.

Hah.
To put it another way, something like 40-50% of Baylor is Greek [frat/sorority], so there are a more than a few beverages of an alcoholic nature that are enjoyed by Baylor students.
Also, Baylor has loosened the rules a bit in terms of alcohol on game day. When I attended, no drinking was allowed in any of the parking lots surrounding the stadium, including the grass fields that are pretty far out. I haven’t been to tailgate recently, but my understanding is that the rules are much more relaxed and there’s even a tent that serves beer.

By "play at Baylor stadium"
I mean that my high school, Richardson High School, lost to Temple 63-17 in the 5A Texas High School playoffs in 1992. I was on the sideline and in the visitor’s locker room.

Who wants to go see Kansas

Hey, wait a minute...
Anyway, you don’t have to worry about that until next year, probably. Unless of course Louisville and Cincy finally realize the Big East is going down in flames and jump ship, and then who knows.

Welcome to the league.
I’m not looking forward to having my Wildcats go to Morgantown for our first game, but so be it. Please be nice and ask Geno to NOT throw for 500+ yards, okay? 450 will likely do just fine, but more than 500 is just rude.

Baylor Bear here
Looking forward to making the trip down for y’alls first Big 12 game. Seems like there is already a decent contingency of Bears ready to come up to WV for the party and to see what this Mountaineer atmosphere is all about.

we absolutely look forward to having you guys!
for retrospect, these guys sat right behind me and my brothers at the LSU game last year – http://www.andthevalleyshook.com/2011/9/27/2453401/thoughts-from-the-south-endzone-west-virginia-wild-and-wonderful – and had the experience, for the most part, that we all want our visitors to have
It's great to finally have y'all officially in the fold.
Out of the rumored potential additions to the Big12, WVU was always high on my list because of the strength of both football and basketball. The travel/distance is obviously a bit daunting, but I’m happy overall.
Have you guys talked here about the potential for recruiting Texas HS football and what this does for those expectations?
OurDailyBears.com
by Prashanth Francis on Feb 14, 2012 5:32 PM EST reply actions
We've already started.
Having Dana Holgorsen as the head coach has already nabbed us a few Texas recruits, most notably QB Ford Childress out of Kincaid.
Now we have Joe DeForest joining as assosciate DC, and from what I hear, he’s quite the recruiter of the Houston area.

It's going to be so weird.
I can’t believe we’re going to have real, live visiting fans in Morgantown for our conference games!

@CountryRoadsWV
Like I said before
ou, UT, KState, OSU and Iowa State travel well. Hopefully, WVU’s admins take note of this and start drawing up plans for expansion. As you have already observed, there are people, not from WVU, that will want to see some of these Big XII teams play that never had a chance before.
You guys are in the big time now and the Big 12 is better for it! Welcome.

Also
I don’t know what the hotel situation is in Morgantown, but there better be plenty of rooms available. If the day comes whereby WVU and/or UT or OU are undefeated, there could easily be 25,000+ fans arriving in Morgantown. And I don’t mean just from the respective schools either.

reports are
that the home schedule is already selling out hotel rooms…should be booked solid by the next couple weeks
I was afraid of this
What are the nearby towns and how close are they? Do they have decent hotels?

If you fly in and out of Pittsburgh..
…the best choice to stay would be Washington, PA. It’s about 20 mintues south of the Pittsburgh airport and about 40 minutes north of Morgantown. Just make sure you get your beer in WV, since PA limits sales to beer distributors and bars.

Easily may be a stretch,
given the difficulty of travel, but it’s certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

I'm excited there is actually a chance for Gameday to show up again
We were never going to get that in the Big East, but with OU, TCU and K State coming in next year, it is looking very possible!
That's a great point.
As long as we hold up our end of the bargain, with TX/OSU rotating with TCU/OU/KSU, there are a couple chances a year for marquee matchups within the conference. That was the exception rather than the rule in Big East play.

It’s kind of weird to say “Welcome to the Big 12” when neither of us are officially in yet, but still we’re looking forward to being your conference mates for the foreseeable future.
It’s really funny that even though the ACC raided first, the Big 12 still got the best Big East school.
http://www.frogsowar.com/
Schools, plural.
Even though you were officially unofficially a quasi-sorta-member of the conference for a cup of coffee and a nooner, the Big 12 stole you guys away from the Big East too.
