Rick Pitino brings his Cardinals into the Coliseum today for another (the last time?) tilt on the hardwood. After some early/mid-season struggles, Louisville has seemed to have figured things out and enter this game on a roll having dumped UConn earlier in the week and fairly well rested (kind of reminds you of Notre Dame, in that regard, doesn't it?). WVU on the other hand has just lost said heartbreaker to Notre Dame, and has lost 4 of the last five. Despite the down turn, the Mountaineers were in all but one of those games and could have won, maybe should have won several of them. This series has always had entertaining/close games and today definitely has the potential for another good one.

This team isn’t good enough to beat them and overcome the refs. Huggs is frustrated and trying to " use the proper channels" well that isn’t working, time to call them out in the media!

What happened?
I caught the first half and they looked like worldbeaters. I guess we couldn’t sustain the same level of play in the second half. Total season meltdown……
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?
Truck bryant happened.
No, really the biggest game changers were kilichlis buffoon technical which put him on the bench with 4 fouls instead of 3. It was literally all down hill from that point. Louisville had no answer for Deniz. He had 17 points at half time. I don’t think he scored again for the rest of the game. Truck heaved his usual 500 shots of which one or two managed to fall through the basket. The refs allowed the Louisville players to mug us every single fucking time we tried to break the press, we couldn’t hit free throws, and brown threw the ball squarely to a Louisville defender at the end of the game. Overall it was an absolute disaster. the refs weren’t great, but I wouldn’t blame the whole loss on officiating. WVU just isn’t a very good team this year. We have one good player, and everyone else is mediocre at best.
Not trying to troll
Just wanted to see what you guys thought of the officiating too. It was god awful as usual. I hope you guys hav better luck with refs in the B12 and don’t have to put up with this shit anymore.
Pitino
Seemed sure of himself that Louisville was staying in the big east ,saying “WVU is a tough place to play. The most exciting part of this after the victory is not having to play here anymore”. I think louisville is going to the big 12 eventually, whether pitino likes it or not.

But the truth is, it’s not up to him. Basketball will survive and be relevant no matter which conference we are in. Football on the other, not so much. Our AD is trying to put UL athletics as a whole in the best situation possible and for football, that means go elsewhere. It will happen eventually
the refs
were really bad, but it was only a small reason in an ocean of reasons that cost us the game.
