National Signing Day: OLB/DE Eric Kinsey Officially A West Virginia Mountaineer

PrintAfter a bit of a hold up, Eric Kinsey, a 6'3, 240 lbs outside linebacker and defensive end from Miami (Florida) Northwestern High School,has committed to the West Virginia University Mountaineers, announcing the news and faxing in his National Letter of Intent on National Signing Day 2012. Kinsey, a 3-star prospect and the No. 103 ranked outside linebacker by Scout.com, chose the Mountaineers over offers from Ole Miss, FIU, Louisville, Nebraska, USF, and Vanderbilt.
Kinsey is a solid pickup at another area of need as WVU transitions into the Big XII, which is obviously a pass-happy league. Given the transition to a 7-man front, Kinsey should have a huge opportunity to come in and compete for playing time right away if he can learn the defense and figure out how to get pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

From what I saw in that video
He looks like a very agile and quick DE/OLB. He read the plays really well and had the speed/quickness to get where he wanted to be. He needs to add a little more muscle and learn how to properly tackle, but he has a lot of talent. If he can become a better tackler, he will be a solid player in my opinion. He was going against some good talent down there in Miami too. That shows he is actually pretty talented and not taking advantage of ridiculously easy competition.
Also, on ESPN there are a couple solid players left that are unsigned and uncommited
I dont know if they just haven’t updated it since Copeland and Kinsey are still under uncommited, but they could be useful to our team. A guy like JoJo Brooks looks to have talent but I dont know much about who is left.
From what I understand, the class is done.
I guess it’s possible that we take someone else, but I haven’t heard any names. We may just save the scholarships and ask a few kids to enroll early next year.
