National Signing Day: RB Torry Clayton Officially A West Virginia Mountaineer
Torry Clayton, a 5'11, 200 lbs running back from South Dade Senior High School in Homestead, Florida, has committed to the West Virginia University Mountaineers, announcing the news and faxing in his National Letter of Intent on National Signing Day 2012. Johnson, a 3-star prospect and the No. 100 ranked running back by Scout.com, chose the Mountaineers over offers from UCF, Ball State, Memphis, and Western Michigan.
Clayton may not be the most flashy prospect, but neither were Dustin Garrison and Shawne Alston, and they seem to be doing just fine in Morgantown. The one thing I really like about Clayton is his size. Not a bruiser by any means, but solidly built and weighing in at two bills, Clayton should do well in pass protection and picking up tough yards in the red zone, where Alston has excelled.
Welcome home, Torry!
