National Signing Day: LB Sam Lebbie Officially A West Virginia Mountaineer
Sam Lebbie, a 6'2 235 lbs linebacker from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, has committed to the West Virginia University Mountaineers, announcing the news and faxing in his National Letter of Intent on National Signing Day 2012. Lebbie, a 4-star prospect and the No. 6 ranked middle linebacker by Scout.com, chose the Mountaineers over offers from Cincinnati, Maryland, and Rutgers, among others.
I'm really excited about Lebbie because he's one of the most sought-after defensive players we've recruited straight out of high school. A big, physical linebacker with speed, Lebbie conjures visions of Grant Wiley during his career in the old gold and blue. Lebbie will have a chance to contribute early on, especially if the Mountaineers switch to a 3-4 scheme, due to the departures of a number of key linebackers.
Welcome home, Sam!

This is awesome.
Great addition for a defense that will be in need next season. Welcome to the party, Sam!
