WVU Football Senior Day 2012: Thank You Seniors!!

Greatest Of All Time? - Mike Ehrmann

Saturday's game marks the last home game for 22 seniors and perhaps another record setting junior.

Tomorrow afternoon against Kansas, twenty two Mountaineer seniors (and very likely one redshirt junior*) will take the field for the last time. These players will be long remembered in Mountaineer lore as the team that scored 70 in a bowl game and made the memorable initial foray into Big 12 competition. We thank each and every one of them for representing our school and state with their abilities, pride and character!!

  • Offensive: RB Shawne Alston, WR Tavon Austin, OL John Bassler, OL Jeff Braun, RB Ryan Clarke, OL Josh Jenkins, OL Joe Madsen, RB Donovan Miles, WR Pete Miller, WR Ryan Nehlen, QB Geno Smith, WR J.D. Woods & *WR Stedman Bailey
  • Defensive: DB Nick Caldwell, LB Josh Francis, LB Terence Garvin, DL J.B. Lageman, DB Cecil Level, DB Pat Miller, DB Matt Moro, & DL Jorge Wright
  • Special Teams: K/P Tyler Bitancurt & K/P Corey Smith

I always refer to the ones that move on as former WVU players, never former Mountaineers. That's because Pat White said it so well when he first uttered the phrase:

"Once a Mountaineer, always a Mountaineer."
