Mountaineers lose in the third place consolation game of the 2012 Old Spice Classic.

The lack of a reliable go-to scorer and offensive fluidity hurt the Mountaineers again as they dropped the third place consolation game to the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2012 Old Spice Classic. Multiple chances close and coming up empty was a recurring theme of today's game.

WVU was able to get out and run a bit early and raced to an early lead, but when faced with having to run half court sets, the lack of offensive identity was apparent. Smitty noted in the game thread that this team still isn't used to playing together and it shows. More games and some home court encouragement could do wonders for this team over the course of the season. However, the lack of a reliable shooter at this point in the season against a brutal schedule that Coach Huggins has put together will test the mettle of these Mountaineers.

Juwan Staten led the Mountaineers in scoring with 15 points. Kilicli and Browne both contributed 13 points in the losing effort (with all of Kilicli's points coming in the second half).

The Mountaineers return to action at 7 pm ET on Wednesday, November 28th, against the VMI Keydets in the WVU Coliseum on ROOT Sports Pittsburgh.
