ESPN's Brad Nessler Fail: The Best Part Of Virginia Went West In 1863
If you didn't watch the Sugar Bowl last night or see the Deadspin link in this morning's Shotgun/Throwdown, let me be short and to the point...Brad Nessler is a geographical idiot.
Why is it so hard for people? I don't understand it. It's bad enough to have to endure the stereotyping that we West Virginians face on a regular basis. But, to not even recognize that West Virginia is one of the 50 states? Down right unforgivable. So, we add another name to the list of ESPN television personalities without much of a shred of brain function. Dang Brad, to think, we usually counted you among the good ones. I guess, not anymore.

"university of west virginia"
pisses me off way more…
Was about to say...
Fail, 2×....Unbelievable….
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
He Went To A School...
from another part of Wisconsin….Mankato, Minnesota.

What a dope
Cannot believe that he made us into a directional school. Just another example of the bias and/or ignorance that we have had to deal with since 1863
guys in seriousness though...
we’re the most thin-skinned fanbase in the country… it was a flub on probably the 500th time he’s done that promo in the last two weeks of calling bowl games.
It seems like every other day theres some new claim of disrespect or bias against the state and university… let it go. Seriously. ESPN has bigger things to deal with than holding WVU down.
"They only showed 30 seconds of highlights from the USF game on Sportscenter!"
… a specific complaint i remember seeing last month…
There weren't any "highlights" from that game
…It was a terribly played and extremely boring game. Be happy they showed 30 seconds.
You still should know that we aren't a part of Virginia
and that it’s West Virginia University
Players who should be in the Hall of Fame: Pat TIllman, Dwight White, Donnie Shell, L.C. Greenwood, Ray Guy, Steve Tasker, Jack Butler, Greg Lloyd, Andy Russell, Cris Carter, Kevin Greene, Curtis Martin, Willie Roaf, Andre Reed and Jerry Kramer
"Back in my day we killed five hookers and thought nothing of it" Craig James
But that's only if you want to be a competent sports announcer.....
Most of the ESPN staff don’t seem to want to follow that career path.

Follow the headlights down, I need to know where they can take me"

cough Craig James cough
what was that

is 100% correct. WVU fans have this thin-skinned nature that is flat out unwarranted. Who cares that other surrounding states look down at WV. It would only be frustrating if WV WAS ACTUALLY inferior to them. I’ll take my Mon National Forest, wilderness lands, skiing, rafting, any day of the week. It likely gets a bad rep due to the relatively higher poverty/unemployment levels, etc.
3 things I have always thought (that usually go against the grain):
1. When friends of mine in C-bus make fun of WV I totally laugh it off and immediately cite the poor skiing in Ohio or some other facet that makes WV look great.
2. When media types bet against WV (ala those maps where all states are blue except West Virginia which is red) this is the BEST thing that could happen not the worst. I hear many sound unhappy because we’re “not getting respect”…..Who cares? The game hasn’t been played yet.
3. Always, always, always, always, always bet against your team. This is the absolute best way to prevent a horrible night of beating your wife (just a joke!!!!)……Your team wins, awesome! It’s money, I’ll make more. Your team loses? Although you’ll feel shitty, go to the show and perhaps get a private dance.

Who's stupid?
It might be easier if it’s multiple choice.
1.Their
2.There
3.They’re
No wonder people look down on us.
