Jeff Casteel Leaving For Arizona?
Will the Orange Bowl be Jeff Casteel's swan song at WVU? I would think the man should only leave for a head-coaching gig. If it's true that he is headed to Arizona, isn't that a lateral move?

if you believe Eerinsider
it’s to show he isn’t completely tied to WVU in efforts to land a HC gig…plausible in that sense
I Don't Believe EI...
But the Tucson Citizen, maybe…I would think their reporter has vetted that from Rod’s side…
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.

My gut feeling
is that he’s gone. I just have a feeling that the way this has all played out and the fact that he hasn’t said no, I’ll be at WVU next year has made me think he’s gone. I just wish this all would stay hush until after the bowl game, so it’s not a distraction.

RR
Must be respected by his assistant coaches because they all follow him whereever he goes. He has assembled the same staff he had here at WVU for all intents and purposes.
My personal opinion is that Rich Rod’s time has come and gone. He will never have the ride he had here. He will manage to win 8-9 games and on occassion 10. He will get to a BCS game once in awhile and a modest bowl game more often than not. That may be good for ARIZONA, I don’t know but it sounds familiar doesnt it.
I am concerned how these guys follow him like a cult leader. It may be time for Holgorson to bring his own guy in…we were all tired of the 3-3-5 anyway.
If he doubles his salary and never has to freeze his butt off again...
it’s not a lateral move. Also, while I think he is a great defensive coach, I’m not sure he’s a passionate lead guy for a major program. The same presumption about moving to the lead role existed about Mickey Andrews at Florida State, who for two decades was considered the best D.C. in the game. But he didn’t inspire generous contributions from donors and didn’t have the personality to be the contemporary head coach of what is a multi-million dollar corporation.

I Doubt Seriously....
that Arizona would pony up that much money (doubling this year’s dollars would be 800k!) for an assistant. But then, who knows? You may be right as far as the reasons head jobs haven’t been offered to him…but then, I think some have, and he hasn’t been interested.

Arizona
RR got that job because of his relationship with the former WVU donar who is out in Arizona with the Diamondbacks. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
