Game Thread: West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Moo U

West Virginia Mountaineers at Marshall Thundering Herd, Jan 18, 2012 7:30 PM EST

_youaremarshall_medium_medium_jpg_medium

Huggs has the men back in the Capital City tonight as they take on that other team from the western border of the state. As Chuck mentioned earlier today, both teams enter tonight with 13 victories. Tom Herrion's team is a vastly improved version over the version from last year that beat WVU. How WVU handles their inside presence could be the dominating storyline of tonight's game. Compound that with rumors that the big Turk, Deniz Kilicli, may not play tonight and the Mountaineers could be in for a long night.

Television coverage begins at 7:30 pm and is being provided by the "Capital Classic Network" which means a bunch of stations from around West By God will be showing the game, plus at least one in Central PA (WJAL, over the air Ch. 68, in Chambersburg) that will help those of us in the EP and the surrounding region. For anyone out of the region, ESPN3 is your best bet. So, find yourself a warm, comfortable spot, prop up your feet, grab your favorite beverage or 11 and join in the running commentary, random observations, snark, wit, hopes, fears, cheers and jeers in the comments section.

And, as always...

Picture quality is horrible HDTV has spoiled me. Can’t wait till I get to see some guys head in front of the camera fifty times when the game starts. Thank goodness my fridge is filled with beer.

The picture quality is awful

WTH…I mean come on.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?

Espn3 doesn't full screen?

Also no one happens to know of the game being on any Pittsburgh channels?

I'm also in Pgh market

and can’t find it except on espn3. But there should be a fullscreen button if you hover the mouse over the window. Not that the resolution is worth blowing up…

Yeah it wasn't listed

I was hoping they’d change the game on espnu or show it on a local channel. Yeah my mouse over isn’t working. No volume control or pause either I don’t know what’s wrong.

Wow

I almost forgot how hideous MU cheerleaders are. Eyebleach please

how many times

do we have to say it?….there is no such thing as a Big East, Big 12, Big Whatever ref.

They are ALL independent contractors and none have ties to ANY conferences (unlike football). It just seems that most of the same ones work more BE games than others

by WVUIE97 on Jan 18, 2012 8:14 PM EST up reply actions

Dude.... How many times have you watched this game and noticed that the officiating is horrible?

I’m well aware that conference don’t have officials. I misspoke what I meant was why don’t we get refs that know what the fuck they are doing.

by VTsucks on Jan 18, 2012 8:16 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

no disagreement on that part

just the “BE refs” in BB remark has become a huge pet peeve with me…nothing personal

unless we are playing in Charleston and then we

get the best K Valley junior high crew available

John Saunders
