The West Virginia University Mountaineers battled Marshall and Mother Nature in their 2011 Season Opener. They came away with a 34-13 victory of the Thundering Herd. WVU's Geno Smith constantly kept plays alive with his legs and kept his eyes downfield for targets when scrambling. Tavon Austin had a monster game returning kickoffs and punts. The WVU defense didn't allow an offensive touchdown the entire game. Heck the stadium was even struck by lightning.
