:"Ma, there's a thundercloud in the sky. I Guess I can't take you and the young 'uns to the football game. The NCAA wants to protect players from lightning strikes and I can't in good conscience do any less for my family. If something were to happen to the kids, the state would accuse us both of child endangerment and if you were to be hit by lightning, I woud never forgive myself. Besides, they might even arrest me for spousal abuse."
"You know, that Luck fella must be psychic. He got the selling of beer aprroved and what else does a person have to do but drink beer during those long lightning delays"
"What do you mean there will be no one to drive me home, Ma. That pretty cousin Sue of yours lives right beside the Stadium and as friendly, as she is, I'm sure she won't mind me spending the night."
Oops! I think Ma just gave me,"The Look" I glance at the kids. They have that, "Ma just gave you," The Look", expression on their faces. I mumble something about spending the money we'll save by not going to the game on a big sceen tv or something.
Now, I've seen "The Look" before, and a person's safety and that of his family comes first.
Damn those thunderclouds! I didn't realize how dangerous they were!
I guess I'll just stay at home and play it safe. If the NCAA says thse thunderclouds are too dangerous, I surely can't subject my family to them..
