While it was impressive that Coach Dana Holgorsen's WVU offense put up over 500 yards of offense against #1 LSU, a casual reflection on the Division 1 NCAA Quarterback Passing Yard leaders should be most encouraging to Mountaineer fans.
What do #1 Brandon Weeden (OKST), #2 Case Keenum (HOU) and #3 Geno Smith (WVU) all have in common? Of course, they play in offensive systems installed by WVU's Head Coach - who spent the past three years at West Virginia and as Oklahoma State & Houston's Offensive Coordinators.
Dude has game.
WVU has managed to get another offensive innovator to be our coach (the first being Rich Rod). Let's hope Oliver Luck does a better job managing the headline making football coach better than Ed Pasti-ding-dong did with Rodriguez. If not - and WVU doesn't get invited into the SEC - then I wouldn't be surprised to see Hologorsen move on to GREENer ($$$) pastures, too.
