Countdown To Mountaineer Kickoff 2011: GameCon 2

With only two days remaining until WVU kicks off the 2011 season against that other team from West Virginia, today we honor Robert Sands.  Sands patrolled the field for the Mountaineer defense from 2008 - 2010.  He is known affectionately as "The Predator" not so much for his hair, but for more his demeanor and actions on the field.  Although the stat sheets don't reflect it, when there was a play to be made, Sands was there.  Over his career he totaled 5 interceptions, 151 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 2 sacks.  A fifth round selection in the last NFL Draft, Sands is currently in camp with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Also considered for today were Jerry Porter and Darius Reynaud.
