If West Virginia comes to the SEC...

Well this may be a little premature, but if WVU is indeed headed to the SEC then I think it would be hilarious if the announcement was made prior to the LSU game at midfield when the captains meet for the coin toss.

Imagine Mike Slive coming out onto the field and letting everyone know that the Mountaineers are now in the SEC and making a whole show of it WWE style. Imagine the camera being right in the face of all the stunned players and coaches....the crowd goes crazy and then everybody goes at it! It would be hilarious!

Ok, so now I have to type some more stuff so this will fit into a fanpost so bear with me as I ramble on and come up with a bunch of pointless crap to put here just so I can say what I wanted to say. You know, it would.....whoops...that did it!

I mentioned something like this to my friends

a Couple of weeks ago. Basically, WVU goes undefeated through Maryland, LSU goes undefeated through MSU and then on the Following Monday (Today), just after it is announced that it’s #1 or 2 versus #13 through 17, and that College Gameday is going to Mo-Town, That it is announced. Can you imagine the Hoopla and amount of ridiculousness in Morgantown? If you’ve never been, you need to go. I would be there for LSU, but I have a wedding that SHMBO says I have to go to.

As an LSU fan I’m really excited about this game but even more than that I would love to see WV in the SEC. Great football program and a great basketball program (which the SEC could use) would be a great addition to the best conference in the country. Add to all of that an awesome fan base I think it would be a great addition. Hope it happens.

Not to mention

that SEC teams would get to whomp on WVU’s football team for some time.

How happy will WVU fans be when the team regularly goes 5-7 and gets stomped by Bama, Auburn, Florida etc.? WVU couldn’t even win the Big East last year, in a bad year for Big East football. Wait … actually most years are bad years for Big East football …

Losing a game to Florida or Bama...

…is NOT the same as losing a game to Cuse or UConn. Better recruiting. More money. Quality opponents. No, we won’t dominate every year, but we’ll have earned our place.
