The Transfer Answer (Devon Brown Preview)
One of the newest "weapons" in the Mountaineers offense this year will be Devon Brown. The former Wake Forest Demon Deacon had a year of eligibility left and decided to use it at WVU. I put together some clips of what he brings to the table. Whether it be returning kicks/punts, receiving, or rushing this athlete will give defenses another thing they have to worry about. Thought this preview would be be a good idea to show some fans out there an early glimpse of this guy.

I have been hearing good things about him, but wow.
Pleasant surprise there. He can help us.

Would've been nice
to of had this kid for 4 years. He said he wanted to come to WVU with Brandon Hogan. I’m wondering why we didn’t offer other than we didn’t need anymore at the position but the only receiver that graduated last year was Jock. Either way, I’m glad we have Devon this year and hope he has a great season. Hopefully he can have a Ryan Mundy like season but on offense.

Receivers in that class:
Hogan (started at WR)
Kendall Washington
CJ Mathews
Andrew Harris
Obviously, none of those guys panned out and Jock got moved to WR. Not sure why Brown didn’t get an offer, though.

Gotcha
Seems like a lot of guys never pan out the way you think. I think that’s the reason I don’t get too caught up in recruiting. I’ve seen too many “blue chip” players out of high school fail at the college lever, rather it be transferring to another school and still not play or just fall down the depth chart to where they eventually quit.

His return of the opening kickoff of the season
was against my alma mater Presbyterian College (http://www.gobluehose.com/). That’s right the “Blue Hose” I think they are almost fully D1 now.
