Shawntel "Shaq" Rowell is a 6'4" defensive lineman from Iowa Western Community College. In 10 games he had 32 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, two sacks and one forced fumble. Sounds like he would fill in well for Chris Neild, but will be competing with other signees and the likes of Jorge Wright and Josh Taylor for a starting spot next year. As we said before, this will be a needs class and quality depth on the defensive line is a must.
While attending high school in Ohio he made the All-State team as a senior and played in the Big 33 game.
