Jared Barber, a Lonnie Galloway recruit, is a run stopping linebacker that will likely play on the inside of Casteel's 3-3-5 defense. He picked WVU over ACC schools Wake Forest and NC State. He has the potential to be a Grant Wiley type of defender that has a nose for the ball, as can be seen in his five double digit tackle performances during his senior season.
He was a SuprePrep North Carolina Top 40 player and Scout.com Top 50 middle linebacker .
