Joe Paterno On Way Out As Penn State Football Coach, According To Report
There are no words to describe the sickening level of depravity that has happened or how this has played out up until now. I just hope all involved are held accountable.

Sitting in the Student Section of Old Mountaineer Field....
and watching Penn State wax our asses year in and year out, I could never have imagined that JoPa’s career would end this way.

Just a general statement to go along with this report
Comments/posts making light of the situation at Penn State will not be tolerated and will be deleted, despite whatever intentions are behind the comments.
Joe's son Scott
refuting NY Times report right now….they are attempting to set up an off campus presser for Joe Paterno at the present
I think he should resign immediately
As well as the President. The AD should lose his job, as well as the Vice Pres. I thought that I read that the AD and Vice Pres were basically on leave/hiatus and hadn’t actually lost their jobs.
They all should step down.
As some one who works with young people...
and who works with a lot of (background checked) volunteers. This situation terrifies me. Not only the damage done to the survivors of the abuse but also to their families, the reporters (or in this case non-reporters) and the community.
My wife and I talked about this the other day and (not defending him but…) I can see how JoePa thought he did his due diligence. He followed the chain of command. That is what his generation does. He did what he was told to do. Unfortunately, it was not enough. If JoePa followed his protocol, it is sad and he should step down immediately, I feel sorry for him because I’m sure this will haunt him for the rest of his life and ruin his heretofore wonderful (but not immaculate) legacy. He should have done more, the Graduate Assistant should have done more. The AD and VP should have done something, anything. You never think it’s going to happen to you, unfortunately, it happened to PSU.
This is a complete failure.
My hope is that all organizations in the care of others will learn from this terrible situation and lessen the chance of it happening again. I also hope that JoePa, GA, AD, VP, Sandusky, victims and the community have pastoral support or some other support for them to help navigate these murky and terrible waters.
I also know that reporting is a serious decision. As a mandatory reporter I take that decision very seriously both from a pastoral and professional perspective, in my case, one allegation and my career is over. A false allegation results in trauma to a family that is unnecessary and hurtful. I do my best to protect myself and the kids I am responsible for as much as possible.
This is a nightmare.
Prayers for all those affected.

Innocent until proven guilty seems less important than being politcally and publicly correct
One must be careful when painting with a wide tar brush!
Innocent until proven guilty
is an assumption the Government makes in regards to criminal cases. Public figures are held to a higher standard. Some people should be above reproach. The Head Coach of PSU should be above reproach in regards to protecting adolescents from pedophiles in PSU’s football program.
For me, part of the problem is the handling. When the President comes out in support of his people, who are facing indictment, with what seems like an attitude of Righteous Indignation, it rubs me the wrong way, like they feel this isn’t really that big of a deal. The same goes for Joe Pa and his Son. I heard on the radio that Joe Pa’s son was saying that there are no plans for Joe Pa’s retirement and that he plans to finish this season and to continue as the coach. I feel like They need to be be saying something along the lines of “If PSU fans and administration will still have me,”
He’s not being accused of a crime for which he must be proven guilty. Poeple are demanding his resignation for failing to do all he could to stop the molestation, as JoePa admitted in his sworn testimony before a grand jury that he was told Sandusky was doing something of a sexual nature with a little kid in the shower and he didn’t tell the police. There needs to be no investigation, the grand jury conducted one, and Paterno already admitted to the offense for which people want him fired.
