Big East Basketball Blogger Roundtable: Must-See Games

Pico Dulce over at Rumble in the Garden may be done running his posts of our answers to his Big East Basketball Blogger Roundtable questions, but he'd holding back on you.  He actually asked a couple other questions that he ended up not turning into posts.  In the interest of fairness and completeness, and because we need something to talk about this week since football is off, we're going to run those questions.  The full spreadsheet of questions and answers can be found here.  Today, we take a stab at picking this year's must-see conference games.

Here are mine:

1.  UConn at Louisville (February 6, 2012)

2.  Georgetown at Syracuse (February 8, 2012)

3.  Pitt at WVU (January 30, 2012)

The composite schedule can be found on the Big East Conference website.  I basically closed my eyes and pointed at the screen, trying to distinguish between all those games, many of which feature ranked teams.  Just kidding.  Here's my reasoning:

I went with all Big East conference games because conference games are the ones that really matter in basketball, especially in the Big East where teams don't need to beef up on non-conference opponents to earn a high ranking. The UConn-Louisville game should be a battle of top-10 teams and the Yum! Center is always a tough place to play, so I'm interested to see how the defending champs fare in that hostile environment. The other two games I picked in part because of the exit of Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC. The Big East's best basketball rivalry will be played perhaps for the last time as a conference game and in the Carrier Dome no less. I think most BE fans will be rooting for the Hoyas in that one. I followed similar logic in picking the Backyard Brawl, but at WVU where the home crowd will likely give the Panthers a fitting sendoff to the ACC.

What games involving Big East teams are you most looking forward to watching this year? Let's hear your thoughts in the comments!
