Not sure if it was just me
but it looked like they ran the ball to the right the majority of the time to see how the right side of the o-line would do. Did anyone else notice that or am I just dumb?

Yeah
Same here. We can run the ball to the right but I would put money on it that the majority of Devine’s longer runs will come from the left side.

I'm glad someone else noticed this.
I’m not sure if it was to test the right side, show a different look, or just get some work in, but I have a feeling we’re going to be more effective running left as the year goes on. 111 yards and a TD is fine for now. It’s certainly not going to lose anyone a chance at the Heisman (like Dion Lewis running for 75 yards and no TD @ Utah, for example).

As a matter of fact
The Big East Network color commentator remarked about the number of times WV ran to the right somewhere around mid-way through the third quarter.

I said it before and I still believe it
…this team will only go as far as the OL will take it. Talent all over the field doesn’t matter if your OL is getting blown up (not saying they got blown up Saturday, but they must improve)
Like Chris Spielman says here...
on his daily show…offensive linemen are fat, space eaters. It’s an effort position. Move your feet, sustain your balance and maintain your block to allow the skill players to make plays. By no means am I saying that the OL position isn’t important but it also isn’t going to be the difference in this team “only going as far as it will take it”.
What he said
may have been true up to a point in the 80’s, but OL play is as complex part of the offense as any other area anymore
Spencer Hall agrees with you IE
Here’s what he had to say about Michigan’s OL yesterday in The Alphabetical
He [Dennard Robinson] will get most of the credit if Michigan’s early euphoria turns into late season bowl game potential, but the offensive line worked with mechanistic precision early, late, and often on Saturday. The success of the coolest high school offense you will ever see depends on them staying killing-robot-mean for 12 more games.

exactly...
killing-robot-mean = effort.
being mechanistically precise over what? forming a hole to allow a RB running room? Our offense, filled w/ numeorus short/slot type talent (not a bad thing at all), requires even less blocking time, excluding bubble screens.
it’s an effort position.
Can’t wait to see how Geno Smith does against Marshall.
I think the season
hinges much less on OL and much more on coaching, including how the players are prepared when entering hostile environments such as Baton Rouge. In addtion, the play calling, which has been undeniably atrocious, is another more important factor that determines the season results in my opinion.
Can’t wait for the season to start Friday night.
where on the field
is effort not an absolute necessity? IMO, your views on OL play are overly simplistic
