So I actually watched an entire college football game (other than WVU) and realized why I don't make a habit of it.
1. As much as I enjoy the coverage of NHL on Versus, the coverage of MWC football is definitely NOT BCS worthy. The announcer and color analyst (Kelly Stouffer) were absolutely dreadful. It was like listening to me and my buddy calling the game, and that would not be good. The MWC commercials reminded me of the Mentos commercials. The halftime studio team (which included Eric Crouch....yikes) was about as insightful as my Christmas Cactus.
2. I firmly believe that Dave Wannstedt is a solid recruiter. I also firmly believe that he may be the worst gameday coach and most predictable coach I've ever seen. There was absolutely no sense of urgency on that final drive when Susteri looked very solid and comfortable until they got into the Red Zone. Play for the win? Of course not, this is PITT and Wannstedt. You always play conservatively and go for the tie in order to extend the game. Is it me or is that a stupid gameplan when in a very hostile environment?
3. If PITT is truly the #1 team in the Big East, then that is a pointed indictment on the league this season. I do believe that the league will be down, due to the incoming signal callers around the league, but surely the plethora of RBs should make up for that a little.

I agree about the second-rate presentation by Versus.
And the equally inept performance by the team picked to win the Big East. Granted, Utah is nothing to sneeze at, but they tried to give the game away and Pitt just didn’t want to take it. Although it did make me feel better that Pitt game all the way back only to blow it at the end. I hate Pitt more than I love the Big East, so last night made me very happy.

I will never watch a college fb game on Versus again
They were so bias to the MWC, even when the Utah receiver caught the ball, turned and took two steps and dropped the ball. When the refs were reviewing the play it was obvious that the guy fumbled but they didn’t think he had possesion yet. I mean come on especially after tuning and taking two steps i would hope you have control of the ball.
I also think we put Hogan or whoever our best cover corner is by the Pitt game and put them on Baldwin along with another safety keeping an eye on him. Then stack the box to stop Lewis. I don’t think they have many other ways to win the game.

First off, let’s all remind ourselves of something here, Pitt had the opportunity to play Michigan and turned it down for the home and home with Utah. (My Pitt co-workers swear that Michigan wanted a 2 for 1 for the series and that’s why they turned it down)
Utah is no joke. They are a solid opponent. That said, they did everything they could to hand the game to Pitt, but The Stache kept turning it down like a he was a freshman at his first college party that was homeschooled all his life.
Versus sucks for football. They probably will be worse than BYUtv when it starts showing BYU games next year. (I know I have the channel, but I won’t watch the games unless I’m bored out of my skull) The announcers were terrible, just terrible. I skipped the half time stuff to watch some Southern Miss – SC on ESPN.
PItt just layed a total egg after getting the game handed over and over. You have a 3rd and 10 with 30 seconds to go in the game, on the Utah 20 and you try a dive with Lewis? WTF? Idiots.
Eat Shit Pitt. You know what it’s like to be ranked, now you’ll learn what it’s like to be unranked next week.

PITT sucking hurts BIG EAST
Its only a matter of time before the BIG EAST disbands…. hopefully WVU has feelers out to where they will land & not have to take the life preserver from a last resort conference…

you make it sound like a bad thing. The SWC disbandded, the Big 8 disbanded and turned into the Big 12, along with the members of the SWC, the Border Intercollegiate Athlectic conference, Arizona State and Arizona are now members of the Pac-10, Texas Tech Big-12, New Mexico WAC, New Mexico State WAC, UTEP C-USA. So its not like conference disbandment is a bad thing
