'Devine 2010' Game 2 (Noel Devine vs. Marshall)

You would see me poking myself in the eye. I knew it wouldn’t be long until the negativity started spewing but going after Devine is a little crazy.

He did not have a great game but he was touched or under duress in the backfield on most plays. He caught some huge passes and picked up some key blocks on blitzers.

What would you have liked to see? If he ran for 200 yards and we lost you would say, “why didn’t we pass more.” We were behind and had to throw the ball.

You just love to bitch and moan about anything. Ill say it again, smile and have a great day!

You play to win the game. We won, it was a great day!

I’m not saying Devine had a great game by any stretch of the imaginaiton. But do you have to rain on every single freaking parade to celebrate something good accomplished by WVU or one of its players?

Is Devine going to win the Heisman with his performances the last couple games? No. But he’s not going to lose it either (like Dion Lewis did by being held under 100 yards in both his first 2 games). At the end of the year, if he rushes for 100 yards in every game, with every team keying on him and running behind a below average line, that’s a pretty damn impressive accomplishment.
