It's Official!
Just found this article from the AP!
Morgantown, WV (AP) -- It's official. West Virginia Universtiy officials have confirmed that head football coach, Bill Stewart, will not have a remaining mulligan within the 2010 football campaign. It had been widely speculated that when promising sophomore QB Geno Smith is injured in the upcoming season that many in the administration and athletic department would tend to steer blame away from the embattled head coach. However, WVU officials Monday refuted those notions and reiterated that expectations will remain unchanged despite the inevitable injury to its young QB, due to the recruiting prowess of Coach Bill Stewart and staff.
(Don't shoot the messenger, shoot the AP!) Crickets around here lately.

The sad thing
is that you probably do hope Geno gets hurt. For someone so purportedly “driven and successful” in your personal life, your desire for Bill Stewart (and, by extension, WVU) to fail is certainly puzzling.
Just messin'
Not negative….just like to “stir the pot” a little and increase chatter on this blog. Seems like the folks on here are some of WVU’s finest (sincerely meant) and prefer to other blogs.
I really don’t hope Geno gets hurt, and I truly am a WVU fan. Actually, I think there is little chance that WVU doesn’t win 12 games this year (w/ 1 maybe 2 losses). Color me impressed. All eyes are focused on Stewart and staff and how they handle this group.
Gotta admit though, I about spit up on my keyboard when I saw IE’s response.
actually...
i have gotten it on good authority that, (and i quote) “A Bowden will soon be the head coach”…and by soon, he is thinking at the end of this season.
WVUIE97 will know whom i am talking about when i give the initials DP (no, you perverts). this gentleman knows everyone in the front office and has had everyone (including HCBS and HCBH) to his house several times. do not be mistaken, this man has more ties and knows more people in the know than we could ever dream of. scoff if you would like, but don’t say i wasn’t the first to break the news!!!
There is no question
that ANY Bowden would be a step up from this circus act. They should keep the young assistants that are coaching their asses off to bring some of this good talent to Morgantown.
No, Bill Stewart isn’t doing that.
and BTW
Doc Holliday (who everyone admits knows a thing or two about recruiting) said Stew was the best recruiting closer he’s seen, FWIW
don't get me wrong...the asst's are doing wonderful work recruiting
but it’s the whole package that they’re selling, including the Head Coach
You're including Tommy Bowden in this?
The same Tommy Bowden who NEVER won more than 10 games at Clemson? Yeah, real successful there.
