WVU on Bubble Watch?
I sometimes find myself looking at Joe Lunardi's "Bracketology", wondering if WVU is going to make the 65 team field. I search the 7, 8, 9 and 10 seeds but WVU is nowhere to be found. I start to get nervous and check the "Last 4 In" and "Last 4 Out." Nowhere to be found again.
What the hell is going on? We have had an up and down season but we should be in the tournament. Then I remember, despite our team's troubles and our constant bitching about how they could be better, we are a top 10 team poised to make a deep run in the BET and NCAA tournament.
Wins over Georgetown and Villanova should guarantee WVU at least a number 2 seed in the NCAA tournament. So we are a bubble team to receive a No 1 seed. So I ask you...

unless the definite percieved #1's (Kansas, Cuse and UK) go down in their tourney's early (and ugly)
I think we have to win the BET to get the 4th #1
We have definitely had a nice season
and I think we’d all agree that this team is capable of winning an NC, especially given the recent warming trend heading into the tournaments.
However, I think we’d also agree that the team has played poorly at certain times and that it was actually capable of even a better record.
We should have won 2-3 more games than we did……….PITT was one of those losses that PITT annual year end highlight DVDs will focus on.
I think that's fair.
I don’t think we had any business winning that Villanova game with the way we played in the first half, but that’s how it goes. We also got lucky against Louisville. But all in all, great regular season. How many years in a row have we matched or exceeded our preseason conference ranking (picked #2 this year, finished tied for 2nd)?
I still don’t feel great about our tournament chances given our lack of quality guard play, but who am I to doubt this team’s seemingly unending knack for just winning? I think part of our tournament ceiling depends on our draw. I don’t know if we have anyone who can guard John Wall (although I’d love to see what Ebanks can do against him), I think Kansas is really disciplined, but we match up with them pretty well. Duke? Now that’s who I’d love to play!

I would love to see UK
If Ebanks can guard Reynolds, he can guard John “Overrated” Wall. The only thing that could kill us against them is the combination of Cousins and Patterson. However, our tough defense could frustrate those two thugs to no end.
Leave no doubt tonight! Leave no doubt tonight! No doubt! They shouldn't of played the Old Gold'n Blue.

I honestly think it depends on conference tournaments.
I mean, if we win the BET and Cuse or Duke takes a first round exit, I could see us sneaking in. But I’m not counting on it.

Then your vote is for the #2 seed.
First 4 are 1 seeds, second 4 are 2 seeds…
I Want To Be In Duke's Bracket....
…they don’t have the kind of guards that give us fits. (But maybe we fixed that by mixing up our zones, love the 1-3-1, like we did against Nova last time out, but then…Reynolds did have an open look to win…thank God he was shaky all game!)
I haven’t watched a Kansas game this year, but I like our chances against Cuse. UK…I don’t know….we would have to shoot well and be better on the line…seems like the kind of game that officiating could decide….
….wait….I am thinking too far ahead. Let’s get there and hope we don’t play Murray State in the first round!
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
