Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Fulton Beer Company, in honor of today's Miss Throwdowns.
It was another great weekend for the Mountaineers. The men advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and the women won their first round game last night. Next up for the men: the 11th seeded Washington Huskies. The women got a reprieve when Texas lost yesterday on their home floor. Next up for them is 11th seeded (funny how that works out, huh?) San Diego St. Keep the tips, suggestions and requests coming. Don't forget, 2nd Round voting ends at 8, with the Sweetest Sixteen revealed late tonight. See you after the jump...

Cottrill and Devendorf
It’s the most obvious comp out there, one that I mentioned myself yesterday. I know we hate Devendorf for so many reasons, but from a purely basketball talent sense, if Cottrill lived up to that comp, his career will be a success.

Before I say “Shame on WVU,” I’d love to know how much input WVU had in saying when the game would be played. Was it something ESPN came up with and approached both schools? Did WVU have to agree to it, or can Marshall just set any old game time between Friday and Sunday?
