Da'Sean Butler revisited--great vs. good (the answer is very clear now)

Previously this was up for debate.  Is Da'Sean really one of the greats to play basketball at WVU?  I think Da is definitely one of the best ever for a number of reasons.

Has anyone seen those "Legends" commercials on TV?  Hot Rod=definitely.  Jerry West=without a doubt.  Gansey=well, maybe.  Pittsnogle=not too sure about that one.  Granted, Gansey and Pittsnogle were very good.  But to put them in the same category as West and Hundley?  I think that's a bit of a stretch.

But Butler?  A couple of weeks ago, I may have been slightly skeptical to do so.  Today, I would without a doubt.  Da'Sean is a proven leader on and off the court.  The only scorers ahead of him are West and Hundley.  His attitude is always great, never mouthy/cocky (that I've seen), and always there for the team and for WVU first.  I've heard about a lot of charity work and kids programs he's participated in, which I believe says a lot about him as well.

I know there's quite a bit I'm not mentioning here, but bottom line here is that Da'Sean Butler IS definitely one of the greats and he WILL BE a legend at WVU.

Dana Oneil at ESPN said it pretty good

when she said that he’ll never pay for a dinner or drink in WV again (I’m paraphrasing).

Da'Sean is GREAT

but that’s what I said the first time the question came up.

MY only question was about consistency....

Well, Butler delivered again and again at the Mecca of Basketball with everything on the line, in the toughest League Tourney in the Country…. The man is officially Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Da’Sean and WVU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there was any doubt before,

I think this should cement him as a great one. Epic performance on one of the biggest stages (NCAA tourney being the only one bigger). 2000+ career points. NIT Championship, Sweet 16, and who knows what else this year. I have no idea what he’ll be like as a pro, but Da’Sean is a GREAT college player.

He Is Great

No doubt. And said to say, I only voted “good” last time. But then, I can be an idiot, or I could go with old standby: I was drunk when I voted.

Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
