Bill Stewart Interview with Parkersburg's WTAP
I hate to break up all the fun basketball news, but this is too important to completely ignore. In the interview, HCBS spoke on a variety of subjects, but the most interesting revelations came when the interviewer asked about the possibility of the BE being raided (around the 7:20 mark). ESPN's BE Blogger, Brian Bennett has a nice summary/recap HERE. He almost seems to be talking as if it's a done deal and refers the Big East in the past tense. Yet, he does catch himself and says that it's a few years off.

I will say this...
Discussing this, rather than assuming all is well and good with the Big East, is a positive, proactive step for WVU. The last time conference realignment happened, WVU and the Big East were caught completely off-guard. I doubt that happens this time around.

Exactly. We need to look out for number one this time. I don’t want the Big East to be raped, but if this is the way it looks like it is going, get in the SEC, trust me we will all be happier. I will miss the old rivalries as well, but give me games against Florida, LSU, UGA, etc etc etc, and we will soon forget the Syracuse-WVU rivalry.

Another thing...
If there is conference realignment, WVU better hope its of the seismic variety. One or two schools moving around is bound to leave us out in the cold. If a conference goes to 14 or 16 teams, however, then we’re suddenly a very attractive choice.

Screw the Super big ten (14) or pathetic ACC, u see how well the old BIG EAST schools are doing there, IF the BIG EAST does blow up, go to the SEC. But seriously, why not be proactive, BIG EAST commish, ask Depaul ( chicago ) Marquette (milwaukee) (midwest) to politely find another conference, & TELL ND to take a fucking hike, they are NOT SPECIAL… then go after some football schools & have villanova jump up to Div I…

cympath, but a reconstructed (again) Big East would still be looking at a credibility issue each year on the football side of things. If a shift does happen, I hope we wind up in the SEC East, or the ACC Atlantic.
Another thing I have dreamt about would be a return of BC, and the addition Penn St., Notre Dame, and East Carolina. Plenty of old rivalries would be restored, the geographical considerations would be positive, and we would have our own title game.
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
Nova
From what I remember in previous discussions is no where close to being ready to jump to D-1.

Nova is not even fucking close to making a jump to D-1, stadium holds 10,000(maybe), facility is a joke for football, I’ve seen high schools in suburban Pittsburgh with more impressive football facilities. Ten years easy.

Terminology
Villanova is already a Division 1 team. They are, however, FCS (not FBS). The main problem with Nova jumping up is that they are very constrained on places to build out the facilities you need to have for an FBS program.
It’s just like Cincy, they can’t really do too much expansion to their 30,000 seat stadium becuase of space limitations. And 30,000 seats won’t generate the revenue you need.
