The Shotgun/Throwdown: Wednesday (3/10/10) Edition
Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions; Now nationally recognized! We're being brought to you today by Łomża in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.
Great run by the women. This UConn team is just too good. I think they'll make a nice NCAA run as well. Have we ever seen both BB teams ranked this high at the same time? Enjoy it people. Don't take it for granted. The BET in NY is well under way now. Almost there. Yes, we still have to wait until tomorrow. There's plenty of coverage inside to keep you sated until tomorrow. Note: All Bracketology and Bubble Watch links will be updated as of the previous days games. Keep the tips, suggestions and requests coming. See you after the jump...

Wes Johnson BE Player of the year??
Crazy. Desean Butler got screwed. I could see it going to Scottie Reynolds, but there are like 4 guys I’d give it to before Johnson.
It's not me, It's you

ESPN
Latwan Anderson picked Miami, also said that they were far closer to winning a conference and National championship. Heres the link.

Uh...
“I felt that all things were equal between West Virginia and Miami,” Anderson told SI.com. “The only difference was the football. In my opinion, Miami is far and away closer to winning conference and national championships than West Virginia.”
Clearly, I think Coach Shannon got LA to drink some cool aid. I will bet anyone here that we win a conference title again before Miami does, and please don’t even think about telling me how great the ACC is as a conference – in football or basketball!
Good luck LA…I hope the Hurricanes turn out to be a good choice for you. But let me say that looking at your choice of school in terms of where you are going to wind up living is, well, not really important if you plan to be playing at the next level. That is the kind of comment that just feels like a recruiter planted it in his head. “Do you really want to wind up living in ….no, man, you want to be down here in the sun, etc….” Maybe I am just old, but I think it is hilarious that reporters have to seek comments from 18 year old kids, and WE care about them. It was better when the process was more anonymous, wasn’t it? Go to any mall on a weekend and watch the youngsters amblng around and try to think of questions you would want them to answer….
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
..and yes...
I meant “cool” aid….
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
