Way to overshadow a 20 point win over a ranked team. I hope y'all know that everybody views WVU fans as an embarassment to the league. Although we've had a good rivalry in both bball and football,....I would honestly not care if we never played you guys again and moved to the Big 10. The reason is that there is no honor and dignity in playing WVU.

And before you say its a few bad apples,...the reason a few idiots feel secure enough to actually throw projectiles onto the court is because your environment and culture nurture that kind of behavior. I would never even dream of throwing anything at the Pete because it would look so out of place,..somebody would call security immediately. For you guys,...its tacitly accepted.

Rightly or wrongly,...the only thing America took away from your dominating basketball performance last night is that your fanbase is dominated by trailer trash. We'll live with last nights loss only for a few days,...you'll live with your reputation for a lifetime.

Coach Dixon has been the only person associated with Pitt that has had any class throughout this ordeal. As always, the pussycats from up north have pounced on an opportunity to try and overshadow the fact that they got their asses handed to them.

I would like to extend a thank you to Coach Dixon for having some dignity in the face of an otherwise bad situation. Other than that, it remains very transparent that only good thing to come out of Pittsburgh still remains I-79.

Oh yeah—I almost forgot—go fuck yourself (thanks Charlie).

Were I you, and I am glad I am not, I wouldn’t be too worried about the microbial percentage of our fans that aren’t as classy as those portraits of honor and dignity to be found in Oakland, Dormont and at The Squirrel Cage. I would be much more worried about the fact that you guys were 6-for-30 from the floor in the second half, including 0-for-7 from three-point land, and were outrebounded for the game, 45-31.

By the way, I half think some classy Pitt goon framed us here. The thrown object came from the seats given to the visiting team. Regardless, don’t let the episode obscure the fact that your kittens got their ass handed to them.

…even if one of our fans threw the object that struck Pitt’s assistant coach, that fan was not a sanctioned WVU representative. Unlike the P.A. announcer Pitt employed at your old piece-of-shit stadium on heart attack hill. As I recall he led all sorts of negative chants, and was the first I remember to hurl the E.I.E.I.O insult. At least no one paid by WVU has ever stooped to that level.

Here is what I love....

that people automatically associate bad behavior at WVU as only being confined to people from WV. What most people forget is that our student population has a significant percentage of people from OTHER places in the northeast because our out of state tuition is still cheaper than most local state’s instate tuition. When I was in school there I was always amazed at the number of idiots I saw from PA, NJ, MD, OH and VA. So before you break out the tired old “trailer park….inbred….classless…” just remember that you are making yourself look equally stupid because you don’t know what you are talking about.

Also, lets not forget about the hypocrite factor. All of those people who criticize us act like they NEVER utter a curse word, fart in public, flip someone off, use the “f” bomb, etc. Give me a break.

I would rather be a rude fan from WVU and enjoy the little bit of success that we’ve had recently than a lame Pitty fan whose sports teams are a disappointment and can’t get enough fans to even show up at their football games.

I was born and raised in WV. But guess what…I’ve also lived in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, San Francisco and now Atlanta. One thing I have learned is that rednecks are everywhere. Yes, even in CA. I saw just as many idiots in Pittsburgh driving t-top camaros and jean shorts as I did in WV. FACT. So take your “holier than thou” attitude and shove it up your ass. Generally I don’t respond to trolls online, but I guess once in a while I get bored enough to do it. I grew up around pittsburgh. WAY more poor trash in that city. Ever go to homewood? Ever go to braddock, or homestead? Ever go to mckeesport, or the hill district? Ever go to any where in that entire town outside of shadyside, oakland and squirrel hill? Don’t get it twisted tough guy. If you want to see trash, just visit 98% of pittsburgh, or get accosted by the disgraceful homeless crackheads while you try to get into a baseball game. Trust me, there is nothing classy about glancing over your shoulder as you dip into the hill district projects to cop a bag.

Another thing I can’t figure out about you guys up in the dying city is why you get so easily offended by anything we do down here, but it’s perfectly acceptable for you to use bigoted terms like trailer trash, white trash, rednecks, and the constant distasteful discussion of incest? What is it with pittsburghers and their undeniable obsession with incest? Do you perhaps have a sexually deviant side to you that you need to let out?

Is there a component of “The New Racism”, where people of Southern or Appalachian heritage can be the butts of ehtnic and demographic slurs now that all other groups are off-limit? Almost all of the discussions on Blogs and message boards about teams in our region usually devolve to that point, where when there are no facts to dispute, only vicious name-calling seems to be the answer.

I don’t think it qould qualify as racism, though, although it stings in the same way. Regionalism? I don’t know if you have ever read the essayist Hal Crowther, but it is a subject he has written on with particular emphasis on how the entire south is looked upon by the rest of the nation.

This is one of the things that makes West Virginia so interesting to me. Northern by birth, but largely Southern in tradition, with elements of so many other states. Northern panhandle -akin to Ohio and Pa, Tri-State area akin to KY, Southern (Beckley, Princeton, Lewisburg) akin to Virginia, and Eastern panhandle akin to Maryland. And yet trolls like this guy want to try to put the whole state in one little, stereotyped box.
