POLL: How High Can We Go?

This week's Polls have WVU's men ranked back at number 6 after falling as low as 12.  But have we reached our full potential?

Going back to the Ohio State game, I have been pleasantly surprised by our improving play.  While consistency on the offensive end continues to be a concern, the Mountaineers how shown slivers of absolute brilliance, and have opened a window into what could prove to be one of the best teams entering into the final weeks of the season.  We have shown much better ball control and have began to settle in defensively.  Guard play has improved, as has intensity.  Additionally, the ability to close out close games will help to sharpen our tournament toughness.  So how far can we go?  If we continue to close up the holes in our game, how high can we climb?

This isn’t meant to be negative, but I think this is as high as we can go. The Big East has a tendency to beat up on each other, and we still have a lot of tough games left, I feel the Big East teams ahead of us will also lose a few as well, but by knocking each other off, it will prevent us from getting any higher.

I am still not overly excited about our play as of late either, but I hope we continue to improve and get a 1 or 2 seed.

I think we win our games this week and move up to #5 because Michigan State will lose one of its next two games. Either @ Wisconsin tonight or @ Illinois on saturday.

Leave no doubt tonight! Leave no doubt tonight! No doubt! They shouldn't of played the Old Gold'n Blue.

Rankings

All that matters is RPI, and the Eers are currently 7th…remaining schedule looks too tough to move much beyond 5th prior to tournament….should be a 2 or 3 seed.
