The Shotgun/Throwdown: Thursday (2/18/10) Edition

420200815050pm_st-arnold_medium

Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions; Now nationally recognized!  We're being brought to you today by Saint Arnold Brewery, in honor of today's Miss Throwdown.

We are off the schneid!!  The men notched victory #20 last night with a nice performance over Providence.  Yes, we let them get too close for comfort a couple times in the second half, but we answered with some runs of our own.  There is a surprising lack of coverage of last night's game today.  Mostly just AP wire recaps all over the place...weird.  I got you covered anyway.  Both men and women get back in action Saturday.  I love getting tips, suggestions and requests.  See you after the jump...

Providence MAPOG

Since no one has put one up yet, let me nominate Devin Ebanks, who played like we hoped he would have all year. Game high scorer with 21 points shooting 60% from the floor and 75% from the line.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
