WVU vs. Providence: Game Thread

080415_providence_college_medium

The defense that we got used to seeing this season has kind of disappeared the last couple games, especially at key times.  Lots of questions need answered, starting tonight.  Do we have an offensive option down the wire other than Da?  Can Huggs get the guys to rebound (both figuratively and literally) tonight against the Friars?  This losing streak needs nipped in the bud at two.  I say we give up losing for Lent and not look back.  Who's with me?  Leave your thoughts below;  before, during and after the game.

As always...

First half was encouraging

They showed they could get a good start and keep with it. Now I hope they finish strong and just crush these putzes.

Good looking little run going here. Rebounding has been key.

I almost feel satisfied with that performance. I think huggs should have played kilicli more to get him experience though

Yeah, I’d have liked to have seen more of the Turk.

The one thing I notice....

not necessarily w/ this specfic thread, but w/ recent ones, is that many are disappointed by the play of the Mountaineers as of recent games and for very good reason. Many posters are talking about how Huggs hasn’t done his best job this season (which is true), etc. yet the Mountaineers are a Top 10 team w/ continued hopes of a 3 or 4 seed in the tourney. The expectations, however, were that we’d be a Final 4 contender and I feel many are seeing that there are deficiencies w/ the team that may hinder that goal. That doesn’t change some of the rightful disappointment by some of the posters.

I only wish that these same posters would be disappointed when the WVU football team loses 3-4 games annually, however, I understand why they wouldn’t be…..it’s because the expectations have reverted back to the pre-Rodriguez days of WVU.

there's no comparison

I’m disappointed with the losses in both sports, but I’m not calling for a coaches head based on those. It has nothing to do with expectations, but rather, realization of talent limitations….in both sports.

I'm amazed

of how you show the patience of a saint with your lack of remarks regarding Huggs. You almost completely refrain from remarks after BB losses, but if, God forbid, the FB team has a close win…..you strike like a shark smelling blood. Even now, after a BB win, you’re complaining that we don’t complain about FB….even after you’ve made the statements “I can’t believe you’re still talking about FB?!?!? Roll out the carpet!!”
