Barry Brunetti To Transfer
This means we have absolutely no depth at the QB position. I hope Stew and staff can pull a rabbit out of their hat and find a back-up on the recruiting trail.

Figured this was coming
Highly recruited, and was only looking at a max of one year at the starting position. My question is why wouldn’t we red shirt him so we get 2 years out of him after Geno graduates?
What is up with kids these days
I’m glad Jarret Brown didn’t throw a fit and leave after realizing he would have to sit behind a legend in the making for a few years.

Same thing as always
It’s not kids now a days, it has always been going on. Why do you think Jeff Hostetler came to WVU? Because Todd Blackledge beat him out for the job at Penn State. It’s just more pronounced now because recruiting is much more followed, so people are aware of incoming freshmen.
This news saddens me. I thought Brunetti could have been a heck of a player.
Browning Nagle, Eric Boykin, JaJuan Seider, Scott McBrien, Danny Embeck. It’s been going on forever. It’s not the music they listen to or the TV shows they watch, it’s simple logic. Why sit when I can play elsewhere? Jarrett Brown was an exception, who unfortunately, was screwed over by the coaching change and plugged into an offense that didn’t play to his strengths.
Another transfer name: Bill Stewart. He wasn’t good enough to cut it at WVU, so he transfered to Fairmont State. Sometimes, when I’m lying in bed, I like to dream that maybe he’ll once again realize he’s in over his head at WVU and quit…er….leave again.
Rock was never my bag.
Does Jake ‘The Snake’ count, or were those issues related totally to being a punk?
One thing I will grant that is different is more and more teams are playing on national tv. It used to be you had to go a ‘name’ school to get on the tube, but not anymore. I can watch anytime on almost any night of the week.
I would be upset also if I were him, lets be honest, he should have gotten some quality reps this year. Yes they need to be patient, but I also believe they should be reward with the chance to play, especially in light of our cluster fuck we call offense. I’m sure Mullen could have worked him in some how.
Keith Tandy
Hopkinsville, KY, new backup QB possibly even starter, The Tandy doesn’t know yet!!! Figures I’ll be like lil hogan next year and nobody will want to throw in the Tandys direction cause there liable to get picked, so there’s no use wastin time on D-Fence. Might even get a DUI or two, The Tandy at least has to piss on some bitches in public or something.
QB
Do we have a legitimate shot at any highly regarded QB recruits?? It appears we aren’t high on any major recruits list. Again another example of the slow decline of the program. 2011 may be a tough year due to the loss of the O line and loss of key D backs and Brunetti. We should be a least on the list of some major 4 star recruits. Under RR we were at least in the running for names like Terrelle Pryor.
I doubt any of our juniors declare for the draft

The Reason Some High-Line QBs Aren't Expressing Interest....
…is our offense is just a little bit better than middling, and has been for three years straight. Also, who do we go after? We are no longer looking for the Pat White model, since the offense has shifted away from zone-read, but we aren’t a pro-set either. Our lack of identity isn’t helpful when we are pitching ourselves in a kid’s living room. This is why I think a change is needed.
Now is the time boys to make a big noise.
No matter what the people say,
For there is naught to fear, the gang's all here,
So hail West Virginia, hail.
Disagree about the reason the top QBs aren't interested this year.
In Stew’s first full recruiting class (with 1 season for recruits to see the offense), he signed Geno Smith, an Elite 11 QB.
In Stew’s second full recruiting class (with 2 seasons for recruits to see the offense), he signed Barry Brunetti, an Elite 11 QB, and Jeremy Johnson, who was ranked higher than Brunetti by some services.
So we actually have a pretty good track record for signing talented QBs. The issue, IMO, is that much of the groundwork for recruiting is laid a year in advance. This year, the staff didn’t think they needed to get another Elite 11 QB because we had 3 excellent QBs who were all freshmen or sophomores. Also, I doubt an Elite 11 QB would even want to come into that situation. So the staff got a verbal from a lower-rated QB, just to build depth. Now, after both Brunetti and Johnson left within a 4-month span, it’s kind of late for the staff to all of a sudden go out and get another great QB.
If they struggle to get a great QB next year, then I’ll be willing to reconsider my position.
