Welcome, By-Godders, to the Shotgun/Throwdown, WVU's nationally recognized best place for sports links, information, sophomoric humor and daily distractions. We're being brought to you today by Iditarod Imperial Stout, because the current weather reminds me of the race.
OK, here's my $0.02 on the Champs Sports Bowl: at least it's not the Gator Bowl for the 325th time and Notre Dame didn't screw us. Yeah, the day/date/time thing could be better, but at least it's a decent location. Obviously, Miami would be so much nicer on several levels, but, it is what it is. If I had the means, I would go to Orlando. That's not to try to convince anybody, just what I would do. Ticket/travel info is included today for those who are interested in going.

Holy Crap!!!
I swear to you, I’ve received at least a dozen emails (and I’m not exaggerating) from various WVU entities regarding buying tickets to the bowl.
Same reason Pitt is playing after Jan. 1
They (ESPN) has decided to stretch out the bowl season as much as possible, and since they hold ownership in so many, they moved times and dates around to fit scheduling to show them all.
The allure of a January 1 bowl game is gone. Now it’s all BCS or bust.

I’m looking forward to this game. West Virginia is the cream of the crop of the Big East IMO. Both teams will have great crowds there despite both coming up short on a BCS bid. Hope to see ya at the tailgate….Good Luck!
For the record
I know that WIlson is a good quarterback and NC State has done a lot of good this year, but I want to win by 50 and I want Noel Devine to rush for 200 yards and 5 touchdowns to make up for his injury laden Senior year.
Also sent I won’t be able to go or see the game this year I hope that the text message updates I get as I travel across the country do not send my nerves (that will already be frazzled due to air travel with a one year old) over the edge.
