I am curious about something

that a buddy and me were talking about the other day.

If WVU finished the season 7-5 and somehow (this may be impossible) went to a BCS game, would you be satisfied w/ the season?  This would mean that we would be handsomely rewarded only because of the system of the BCS.

I ask because in 2007 Ohio State reached the National Championship and should've played WVU before Rodriguez and Co. gagged hard.  However, it was widely known that many of their fans (local radio, newspaper commentary, etc.) literally didn't want to play in the NC game and instead wanted to be in the Rose Bowl.  (I know it sounds crazy, but speak w/ anyone from C-bus and they'll confirm this if they listen to 1460 The Fan)  They knew their team was a season or two away from doing anything, especially w/ one of the worst QB's in school history (guy named Todd Boeckman).  They simply had a cupcake schedule that season and ended up w/ 2 meaningful games (1 they won and 1 they lost) due to talent disparity.

I'm curious to get your opinions on this......and if this is an impossible scenario (7-5) to get to BCS, then

1.  change it to 8-4

2.  would it be a successful season GETTING TO the BCS game?

I just don't think it's a successful season, based on our talent (especially on defense) and weak schedule.
