I will admit. I am from upstate New York originally. Everytime I tell people I went to WVU, the next question is always "Why?" Not out of disdain, out of pure curiosity. Morgantown is 400 miles from my house. Most people from my high school went to Northeast schools (SYR, BC, SUNY Buffalo, etc.). So I will admit that my hatred of Marshall was weak, at best, when I enrolled at WVU. I will also admit that after 4 years ('03-'07) I still couldn't really care less about the Herd, other than the fact that they brought the ugliest of swamp donkey's as their fans to games at Mulan Pushkar Stadium Mountaineer Field, they never really did anything to me. My friends from West Virginia hated Marshall. Why? I asked...

This YEAR has made it very clear to me why the contempt is so deep. First off the "Friends of Coal Bowl" this season. This should never be a game, and I hope it never will be, with WVU pecker-smacking the "Herd" all over any field they play on. This year's "Bowl" disgusted me for many reasons; 1. The cheap shit that was going on all over the field all day by Marshall. It was completely obvious that their team had no intention of playing a fair game and were out to simply injure the Mounties, knowing in their hearts any attempt to beat them would be futile. 2. The fact that MU players actually had the balls to talk shit following the game!! ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Your team is horrible, your fans are horrible, your whole existence is horrible! You could bring Moss and Pennington back and you still couldn't beat WVU, you are a second class program and always will be!

And now this...

Now granted, Doc Holliday is mostly to blame for the pilfered recruits that are committing to Marshall. I should really be more upset with him. But he's a scumbag, and MU is a scumbag institution so it's a perfect marriage.

So now my hatred for Marshall has escalated greatly. No where near PITT levels, but creeping up more and more every day. Tonight, I hope our women's team beats those beasts from down south by 50 and our men's squad wakes up, and shows up, and beats MU by 100. I hope the WVU fans that make the trip rain BOOs down upon Doc Holliday so badly that he goes home and cries himself to sleep. And then next season I hope we play Marshall and demoralize them so badly that Doc Holliday wishes he never even thought about turning his back on the Mountaineers! I hope coach Stew grows a pair (I am a coach Stew supporter by the way) and runs the score up so badly that the Marshall faithful beg him to stop, and while they're pleading with him to end the madness he sends Noel in for an 80 yrd run and WVU leaves with a 60 point victory!

That's my rant and I'm sticking to it.

Fuck Doc Holliday. Fuck Marshall. Let's Go Mountaineers!!
