Redemption Thursday: WVU vs. Colorado

Bill-stewart-omg-eyes_medium

via www.blogcdn.com

A little over a year ago HCBS looked absolutely lost on the sidelines in Boulder, Colorado. That is why I have labeled Thursday night's game against Colorado, "Redemption Thursday."  The Mountaineers, not only, need to bounce back after a tough loss to Auburn. HCBS also needs to look competent on the sidelines in front of a national TV audience.

HCBS's image took a major hit when he closed his eyes and constantly played with his headset at Folsom Field.  Fair or unfair, many fans and commentators have not gotten over the above image in judging HCBS's performance as head ball coach of the Mountaineers.

Thursday night should be a showcase for our new look high powered offense and a chance for HCBS to rehabilitate his image.  I would call for him to do a couple running side bumps but that could lead to a broken hip.  All I will say is, keep your eyes open and if you can't figure out the headset, just break it.  That is a lot cooler image than the Alzheimer's act he put on last year.

17 points??? We may be bad, but West Virginia is in the big east. No big east team should ever be favored in any football game. Do we not get any respect for beating them last year? Lines like that just make me hurt.

I put this on a fan shot, but since were discussing thursdays game I’ll through it out again. Came off the Ralphie Report.

They drew first blood

They are getting respect.

The line should be 21. The Buffs couldn’t stop me from running for 100 yards.

The Buffs D is ranked 101 in yards allowed and 103 in rushing yards allowed. That is after playing Colorado State, Toledo, and Wyoming. Not really top of the line competetion.

None of those teams have a back that is half as talented as Noel Devine. This should be a blowout.

"No Big East Team Should Ever Be Favored In Any Football Game"

WTF? This from a fan of a team who once allowed SEVENTY in the Big 12 Title game!!!!! I wouldn’t say much if I was coming out of the Big 12 North. Haven’t finished researching just yet, but I think I like us against the spread. A lot.

LOL @....

" I would call for him to do a couple running side bumps but that could lead to a broken hip. All I will say is, keep your eyes open and if you can’t figure out the headset, just break it".

I love it. Definately just break the freakin headset if you can’t get it work properly, that would be awesome!!

I think the line is high, which in my opinion is excellent, I was thinking it would open at 141/2. Maybe Wes Lyons possibly not playing made it go up. In Vegas, an injured shitty WR is easily worth 3 points.

John Denver Bowl

will not even be a game. Colorado is one of the worst teams in Division I:

Rocky Mountain High vs. Take Me Home, Country Roads —Advantage: of course, TMHCR

Downhill at Vail vs. Downhill at Snoeshow -Advantage: of course, Vail
WWR on Colorado vs. WWR on Upper Gauley in Sept. or October —Advantage: Gauley
Boulder vs. Morgantown
-Advantage: Push, both are great college towns in their own respective ways. Boulder if you’re looking for a great view and Morgantown if you’re looking for a great party.
Mountains vs. Rolling Hills—Advantage: Rolling Hills, especially in early October in Randolph or Pendleton County. The Rocky Mountains, no doubt are spectacular, but extremely overrated. Rolling Hills are simply more appealing to me.

No idea

how the line-thrus occured in above post….please disregard those.

if you look at the formatting guide below the comment box

the single “-” characters at the beginning and end of words/phrases did that. for example

You must have had one before Advantage and after Morgantown, so it struck through the whole thing.

Let’s hope mullen gets crazy and bill Stewart truly takes what the defense gives him and gives devine 20 carries in a single game.

Also that picture is to bill stewart as that thumbs up Smirk At the podium is to rich rod. They Are iconic images that truly do say a thousand words.

Agree 1000%

That Rich Rodriguez photo you refer to was f’ing ridiculous, and Bill Stewart photo is simply a head-shaker.

It's not the only thing we agree about.

We are both Mountaineers who love our Alma Mater. And that’s all that really matters. Cheers.

My wish? Up 80-0 and going for two as the final gun sounds

I was at the Colorado game last year. Between the chants of “Wet Vagina” and the shabby treatment bestowed upon my wife and two daughters- age 13 and 6- who had to sit separate from the rest of us, I want WVU to win this game more than any other this year. LET’S GO MOUNTAINEERS!!

“Wet Vagina” that’s funny.

Can fans of other schools come up with something a little more original than “BrokeBack Mountaineer” as well, I was called that at South Florida 2 years ago, Cincy two years ago, and last year at the Pitt game, I saw a sign at the Auburn game on tv as well. Some originality people. It’s not hurtful, just annoying.

I want the whole Hawkin’s family on a platter Thursday.

You guys need to worry about...

…10 turnovers in 2 games! You’re not going to beat anybody with those numbers.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
