Blitz
WVU needs to blitz Cox all the time. He doesn’t seem to have very good pocket presence and when rushed, he losses his accuracy. Send Thomas more from up the middle.
I think Bob Davie got drunk during that rain delay. Good for him. If I had to live in South Bend for as long as he did, I’d probably get drunk everyday to celebrate the fact that I didn’t live there.
That is the worst-looking hat I ever saw on Stewart. What, when you buy a hat like that I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh? It looks good on him, though.
WVU needs a nice, long drive after that turnover and Tiger score.
Drive
Yup, that was just what the doctored orded. Awesome stuff.
I gotta say, the coaching staff is starting to win me over. Still a wayyyyys to go.
Turnover
Outside of the turnover, the Offense has looked very impressive.
I agree, their qb is not handling the pressure all that well. So far we’ve kept their running game in check.
Obviously, it was early, but Auburn showed heart not folding when down 14-0. But let’s take it to them in the 2nd quarter and shut down this crowd.

Brown
I heart Jarret Brown. His poise out there is great. Not only during the play, but during the time between snaps, he’s in total command.
I've never seen that called...
unless it was on us. Once the QB starts his slide, you ain’t supposed to hit him.
Grrr
Bad, bad throw by Brown.
Having to call that timeout killed all of WVU’s MO. They should have put that one in the end zone.
That's nothing
I’m watching this game online at a Internet place place here in Panama. Like Kramer at the dentist office, I can let the expletives fly and nobody would know the difference.
Stew's Jacket
I like how everybody is in polo shirts except Stewart. I know he’s a bit older, but geez. Even Paterno wouldn’t have to bundle up like that.
Cincy about to put away Oregon State. Nice.
Stupid Question #539
How come the refs ain’t slowing down spotting the ball for the defense like they did when we tried to run it fast the last 6+ years?
Because
That would benefit WVU, wouldn’t it?

Hogan
If he turns around he could’ve picked that pass off.
There is enough time for some points before the half. They need them, too.
Being conservative
I understand it, but I don’t like it. I want them to attack. But don’t turn it over… oh good he dropped it.

Has anyone else noticed
that it seems every 5 minutes each team dominates, then the momentum changes.
by BurghMountaineer on Sep 19, 2009 10:25 PM EDT reply actions
Yup
Two pretty evenly matched teams. Although I think WVU might be a little better. They should have a bigger lead than what they have.
Gotta get a stop out of the locker room.
what happened to our D-line?
If Davie was correct, THEIR defense was winded, not ours.
That last long drive was tough to watch, they ran for chunks of yards with no effort.
On their touchdown, we had six or so guys standing still in the middle of the end zone (or so it appeared, the camera angles are kinda tight).
I know we can come back strong, but will we be strong enough? need a solution for that crossing pattern that ECU and Liberty both exploited.
Big East
Syracuse just kicked a game winning field goal. Great win for their program. It would be huge to have them back in the mix.
Cincy with a great win at Oregon State. A very tough place to win. Ask USC last year.
UCONN bounces back against a good Baylor team.
Pitt handles Navy.
Louisville plays Kentucky tough. Bout all you can ask for from them.
Rutgers. Whatever.
And South Florida easily showed up Miami and Florida States victories by rolling the mighty Charleston Southern Buccaneers.
Now if WVU holds on, it will be a great day for the Big East.
Ads
Not only am I getting the game online, but I’m also getting ads for young, nublie Russian girls in Spanish with my feed. How many of you can claim that?
Double the fun for Stiles.
Sorry to hear that
On ESPN 2. Stinks if you can’t see it.
IF we hadn’t given them 10 on turnovers, this wouldn’t be much of a game.
Missing an extra point, I hope that doesn’t haunt us.

Great, great drive
Huge!
That throw Starks made threaded the needle. Between that awesome catch to setup the first td and that throw, it’s been a great game for him.
On the other hand, Wes Lyons is a player of no distinction.
Gotta make the PAT.
Lyons
seems to be hurting some. I think he took a helmet to the back early in the game. I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that.

WTF?
What was that? There were like four guys around him, but he wouldn’t even have been down if they were playing two hand touch.
Terrible.
7
Would have been better than 3.
After having some WR’s open early, they seem not to be open anymore. A lot more screens. I did like that screen hook and lateral play.
Huh?
Well the Auburn fans will have that to cry about when they lose.
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME…..
I hope we remember that too. And we turn it over…. let’s stop calling that play!

called that play!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are F*ed
5TOs End of story What a debacle. Mullin should be hung by his nuts.
by Sunnyside Slummer on Sep 20, 2009 12:10 AM EDT reply actions
No
He called those plays, even after the entire Auburn D was sitting on them. It was too predictable.
Why did NOEL only get about 15 carries? Why not use him more?

Unfortunately
We let them off the hook.

Speed kills , but turnovers are killers
I don ’t know if there is a team in the country that has the speed in the backfield that WV has, with Noel Devine and Summers. Thought WV was ready to take the lead again until the 3rd turnover—they just seemed so much quicker than Auburn . Jarrett Brown had played great up until today, but those 4 turnovers today really hurt—led to 4 scores. I hope Brown can get back in there—he has waited a long time for his chance to be the QB. Any report yet on his injury?
Tonight's game
This was one of the most entertaining games Ive seen in awhile. Granted it helps that my team won but, wow this one had all kinds of drama, momentum swings, you name it.
I just wanted to say that you all played an awesome game tonight and dominated everything but the scoreboard.
...and I've always liked AU
except for the times we’ve played. It’s always been one of my favorite schools growing up.
I'm honestly more bummed
about the Barners coming back and gloating than the loss itself. We played a good team and turned the ball over 6 times and lost by 11 in a historically hard place to win. Not making excuses or “accepting mediocrity” We should have and will play better.
Aloha
I endured many years of mediocre football but started paying attention to WVU football again on a cool fall day when Pat White and Steve Slaton ran amuck on teams at will. I went to the Sugar Bowl and watched us kick Georgia’s ass. Now we have a QB tossing 4-5 turnovers per game to mildly competitive teams, so I’m going to recede back into the woodwork and no longer comment because it is too frustrating to watch us loose to shitty ass teams like Auburn. Hopefully, we will wake up and get rid of Mullin and HCBS. I can’t take it. Adios. You won’t hear from me again.

Dude you're a pitiful excuse for a fan.....
and as far as your “shitty ass teams like auburn” remark……well that just shows that your ignorant as well.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
Sunnyside Slummer
should have been at the game…. Then it would have been fair weather.
Kiss My Ass
When we get some decent play-calling it will no longer be too painful to watch a game. Who asked JB to throw those passes?
by Sunnyside Slummer on Sep 20, 2009 12:51 AM EDT reply actions
no thanks!!!
On another note… Since we dont have to play you all again for awhile someone should tell your coach to run the option alot… Since both Brown and Devine are both speedsters and hard to tackle I see that as a winning combination.
I’ll leave your thread now… once again I thought it was a great game and I see alot of wins coming to you all. Having that many turnovers in one game and still be in the ball game shows the talent level.

Great game......
I will say that I severely underestimated WVU’s Offense. WVU’s and AU’s Defense didn’t do either team any favors. War Damn Eagle and I’ll be rooting for the Eer’s the rest of the season.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
Classy comment, but WUIE97 doesn't deserve it ...
… because I’m looking at the comment below the photo above and I’m seeing red. WVUIE97, I hope your night was long and miserable.
HEY. I just posted the pictures and the captions as they were sent to me
they weren’t my words, and BTW that’s how the guy in the pic introduced himself to our guys from here taking the pics, so blame the douche in the pic
everyone underestimates our O (sometimes even us)
I’ll be rooting for AU the rest of the year as well. War Eagle (I’ve always rooted for AU except the last two years games with us) and Let’s Goooo Mountaineers.
War Damn Eagle and GO Eers......
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
I second that
and I appreciate the kind and classy comment..AU is the real deal and I hope you guys run the table.
KEN
roster player?
anyone know where Aveius Darby is? this kid was on the early roster as RB… real fast kid out of SC. as I recall reading, he went to state finals in 100m while in high school. maybe he didn’t make the cut with Devine and others on the squad?
