Anyone coming to Auburn?
I was just wondering if any of y'all are planning on coming to Auburn this weekend. I've been reading the blog for quite a while now and was wondering y'all were planning on having a tailgate this weekend. I'm a student at Auburn, although not an AU fan, and would like to meet some of y'all and wish y'all luck. Also, if anyone has any questions about the area I'd be glad to help you out.

No clue
All I know is that I will be working 10+ hour days this week so I can make the drive late Thursday. I can’t wait to cruise through campus on Friday blaring Country Roads.
This should be a fun trip.

Just to Clarify
He means the song “Take Me Home, Country Roads” by John Denver. I will not be blared. Just drunk.

I'll be there....
We may very well have one of the largest WVU tailgates there. I’ll be there with the WVU Atlanta alumni….4 buses full…..we’ll have alumni there from 20 states including an appearance by the WVU band and cheerleaders. We should be there around 2:00 on Saturday.
So basically WVU will have taken over Jordan-Hare Stadium thats what your saying

Rumor has it..
we will break the visiting attendance record at Jordan-Hare.

I know they usually play at a neutral site
…but I thought Alabama has been to JH before and how would we eclipse that? I hope you’re right though.
The Ironbowl hasn't been played on a neutral field in almost two decades.....
and you don’t stand a chance of breaking the attendance record not a flame just a fact.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
How do they measure visiting attendance, anyway?
Someone would have to do a count at the gates, which is next to impossible. I’m sure we have already sold/will sell out our allotment, so I guess technically it’s a tie?

Sportsline
Has said for a while that WVU will likely break the road attendance record at Jordan-Hare. I don’t know how they calculate it either but that is what they say

Exactly, they call it the barn for a reason. Bovine counting is actually a major. The only problem will be getting enough gate counters so they don’t run out of fingers and toes.
Auburn fans are like slinkys... not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

The Iron Bowl was played in Birmingham in 1998 but it wasn't as a neutral field
Alabama still played many of their home games at Legion Field at that point, including the Iron Bowl every other year.

We may not break the record
But there will be a LOT of Mountaineer fans in Jordan Hare

Watching From Kuwait
Well I am a US Govt Contractor stuck in Kuwait but thanks to my computer and satellite dish, I get most of the Games LIVE!
Lets Gooooooo Mountaineers!
^^^nice...
I was in Kuwait last year and watched all the games…it’s dedication because of the time difference, but since it’s college football, it’s worth it…
enjoy...

Also....
I was at the WVU/AU game last year in Morgantown. AU fans came, yes, but not nearly in the droves that WVU fans will come this weekend. I guess that’s “too far north”.
Heading down from Birmingham, AL
Me, my fiance (that happens to be a converted ’bammer fan and yells for the gold and blue now), my stepfather and his brother are all headed down on Saturday for the game. Me, my stepfather and his brother all grew up and are from the WV. We plan on tailgating and will be down early on Saturday (around 1ish). We would like to meet up with toher WVU faithful. Does anyone know where the Alumni tent with the band will be set up?
Going to Auburn
About 1/2 mile south of Jordon Hare Stadium one can find a huge canopy which is the site for the second largest away game gathering in one spot of Mountaineers since the Park Tavern party at Grant Park in Atlanta of the 2006 Sugar Bowl weekend of which we quit counting at 4000. We are expecting 600 Mountaineers coming in from 17 states. This will be a bee hive of ’eers until an hour before game time. Occasionally, one hears correctly by tv commentators that West Virginia travels well. This day will be no exception.
The problem is....
Is that our tailgate is closed to people who haven’t registered already. I’ve been told that this is AL law!?!? Doesn’t mean that our tailgaters can’t step out of the tent and socialize with people.
Also, the WVU party for the Sugar Bowl was at Piedmont Park, not Grant Park. :) But yes that was one hell of a party.

My dad and his rich friends will be attending
I didn’t have the dollars to get into that. Besides I will be tailgating starting at 8 in the RV lot.

Never heard
of that law. There must be another reason.

No Doubt......
unless you are selling beer as a private club or something….I would have to say bullshyte on that one.
I would have gone to bammer if my grades hadn't been good enough to go to AU
That's what it is...
I guess we are considered a private party, so since we are having an open bar, I guess it would make sense that walk ups are not allowed. Although I have to agree that this isn’t much different than people tailgating behind their car and random people walking up and drinking. Don’t shoot the messenger…I’m just passing along what I was told.
Sorry didn't mean to flame there......
thats not what I intended. That whole private party thing is reasonable but I also doubt they can enforce it effectively…….Enjoy AU and welcome.
